Vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream, topped with rice paper butterflies, fondant butterflies, flowers and hearts.

Dalmation Birthday Cupcakes

Here are some cute spotty dalmation puppy cupcakes I made this week for a birthday girl.

The humidity this week has made it quite difficult for baking.

I made 75 yesterday and tried to make them either as early in the morning as possible or later on in the day.

I try and keep the kitchen cool and wash my hands alot in cold water which helps when handling the buttercream icing and cupcakes.

The batter doesn't like to sit around when the weather is like this, so avoid making up big batches that sit around and wait for their baking slot.  

Mix and bake as quickly as possible.

Little Bunny Cupcakes

I LOVED making these cuties this morning.

Little Bunnies for a birthday celebration.

I used back to front chocolate drops for the eyes, a jelly heart sweet for the nose, rice paper cut into whiskers and pink fondant cheeks with fondant ears.

They looked so funny in their box ready to go.

They were joined by 16 sprinkled Vanilla Cupcakes.

I made 50 delicious Red Velvet Cupcakes this morning, to celebrate a 16th Birthday.

I delivered them to Downe House School for when the birthday girl came out of her GCSE maths exam!

100th Birthday Cupcakes!

What a great start to the week, some cupcakes for a Newbury gentleman who celebrates his 100th birthday today!

They were ordered by Sovereign Housing who are doing a birthday presentation this morning.

They are vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream, topped with fondant 100's, stars and some little spring flowers which are a link to his love of gardening.

Buttercream in two shades of pink with a cream vanilla.

I made 18 birthday cupcakes, with sugarcraft flowers, butterflies, hearts and rosebuds.

Honeybee Cupcakes

I loved making these birthday Cupcakes today!

It made a nice change to move away from Christmas colours and back to vibrant pink, purple, green and turquoise.

The little bees were quite fiddly, especially the small hearts I attached for their wings, but they are very cute and well worth the effort.

Birthday Cupcakes

Birthday Cupcakes made this morning, here a just a few of the 50 I made.

There were some Oreo Cupcakes, some Chocolate Heaven Cupcakes and some Pinky Vanillas.

The Chocolate Heaven Cupcakes had 70% fair trade chocolate mixed into the buttercream and were topped with Minstrels, Munchies, Maltesers and Chocolate Buttons.

I delivered them to the birthday girl at Downe House in time for the birthday celebrations!

Sea Themed Birthday Cupcakes

Happy Birthday to Mia who is having a Swimming Party today.

I made some Sea Themed Vanilla Cupcakes.

They were decorated with fondant crabs, fish, starfish, coral, shells, seaweed, glitter, pearls, jelly sweet fish and pink prawns.

It was my birthday party on Saturday evening, great fun, lovely weather, wonderful friends, twinkly lights and pretty cupcakes!

Chocolate and Oreo Cupcakes

These are some Cupcakes I made this morning for Emily's 8th Birthday.

Five are Oreo Cupcakes, half an oreo baked in the bottom of a chocolate cupcake, with vanilla buttercream stirred into finely crushed oreo biscuits.  Topped with a mini oreo.  They are delicious!

The other 5 are chocolate cupcakes with 70% plain chocolate melted and stirred into the buttercream, the chocolate flavour is gorgeous.  Three are topped with maltesers and two with the fondant pink and purple flowers.

I made 17 Cupcakes this morning for a 17 year old birthday girl.

The drive over to Downe House, the school where I delivered them to, was so golden and autumny, everywhere is looking so pretty, although the wind does seem to want to rid the trees of all their leaves!

Back from Holiday - Back to Baking!

I am back to my sprinkles! At the moment there is no better place to be than in the kitchen baking, it's 3.30pm and already almost dark thanks to the heavy rain!

I made a dozen lilac and pale blue Cupcakes today for an 8th Birthday, they looked really pretty together. Happy Birthday Zoe.

I've got some new alphabet stamps, so have been practicing on some fondant icing with them, I think it looks cute.

You don't need buttercream to be a pretty Cupcake!
