Summer Lunch Cupcakes

I made lots of Summery Cupcakes this morning for a friend's lunchtime bbq. Thank goodness the sun is shining!

There were four shades of icing; pink, cream, lilac and primrose.

The toppings were a selection of fresh raspberries, cherries, butterflies, glitters, sprinkles and various flowers, butterflies, leaves, stars and lovehearts that I made last night from fondant icing to match the buttercream shades.

They looked lovely.

Oreo Cupcakes

Oh Yum!

I am going to be SO popular later when the boys are home.
Their favourite biscuit Cupcake style!

They taste gorgeous......

There is an Oreo in the base of each Cupcake topped with my chocolate cupcake recipe.

Then swirled with crushed Oreo buttercream and finished with a Mini Oreo.

Mmmmmmmmm............

Pretty Cupcakes

These pretty cupcakes are being collected later for a Coffee Morning in Hermitage.

Cupcake 99's

I had fun making these at the weekend, the cake mixture goes into the cone, and you just pop them in the muffin tin and bake as normal - and then decorate as normal. Except for these Cupcakes I had to go out and buy them Flakes to finish them off properly!

Much as the boys love my buttercream, they were slightly concerned that it was a cone full of buttercream, so were amazed to find the cake in there too!

Rock Choir Cupcakes

End of term teacher prezzie!

I belong to Basingstoke's Rock Choir and love it, I've been going for a year and we've just had a fantastic end of year concert at Winchester Cathedral, singing a mix of pop, rock, gospel and motown songs, along with the Winchester and Fleet Rock Choirs.

There are now over 4000 members in the UK, which grew from just 1 choir in Farnham. www.rockchoir.com

But most exciting of all is the Rock Choir Album which came out on Monday, and is heading for a Top 10 entry this Sunday!! Very exciting.

Another reason to celebrate and eat cake!

Saturday's Cupcake Class

We had a Cupcake Class this afternoon, which went really well and my surfaces are well and truly glittered!

I loved the centre of the yellow flower here, a dab of water and then some black glitter dropped onto it. Very striking.

Very pretty and effective, beautifully created by today's Birthday Girl!

Teamwork!

This shows how we carefully work up to decorating and swirling the Cupcake. We practice star shapes first to get the feel of the icing bag, icing and nozzle. Work some circles, and then finally I let everyone loose on a real Cupcake!

We have a final Saturday class before breaking up for Summer on Saturday 31 July.

A Busy Baking Morning

I had an early start on this humid and grey day.

First we had a dozen thank you, chocolate cupcakes, which looked lovely boxed up with the spotty ribbon.

These pretty pink sparkly ones are for a little girl's 4th Birthday Party.

Chocolate is very popular with the boys, (not just me then) these 14 are for Jono who is celebrating his 14th Birthday today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

And finally 2 boxes of these bright and beautiful cupcakes, these are for a birthday party disco which is happening after school today for Fergus. He knew exactly what he wanted, gold cases, with red initials. Enjoy the bopping later!

I think I'll have a quick lie down before getting ready for tomorrow's Cupcake Class....!

Cupcake Class 1 July

It was a fun morning at Treetops with a group of Mums from Thorngrove School

They were great at swirling and made some fantastic coloured buttercream, especially the turquoise, it was very vibrant!
