Today started very early with the baking of 130 Vanilla Cupcakes and 12 gluten free vanilla cupcakes for Nicola's Wedding.
Nicola has been to both the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Cupcake classes, and despite everything that needed doing today, she was determined to come and decorate her wedding cupcakes!
I prepared all the different coloured icings; flavoured with fresh orange juice and zest, vanilla, blueberry, raspberry and rosewater, all coloured in pale vintage coloured colours and got swirling.
Nicola and her friends arrived, I handed over the iced cupcakes and they set to work decorating the cupcakes, whilst also eating some, obviously!
In the Stage 2 class we make the petalled flowers, and Nicola's looked fantastic today, made in pink and peach.
There were high swirls and low swirls and flat iced cupcakes, a real variety today.
And as the bride herself needed the gluten free cupcakes, I made the blue icing for "her something blue" and I thought they looked stunning with the little flowers that her and her Mum had made.
I can't wait to see the photographs of them set up on the cake stand tower at Donnington Grove Hotel.
I hope you have a great time!
